Conservation agriculture practices for a more profitable farm

No-till seeding in the field

No-till seeding

Reduces tillage and preserves the soil's natural structure, improving fertility, conserving moisture and cutting costs. No-till seeding helps protect the plot from erosion, improves water retention capacity and supports a more efficient crop.

Cover crops on a farm

Cover crops

Keep the soil covered with vegetation to prevent erosion losses, increase organic matter and improve biological activity. Cover crops help conserve moisture, reduce compaction and prepare the soil for more resilient crops.

Cereal crop rotation

Crop rotation

Alternate different crops to improve soil health, break weed, pest and disease cycles, and make better use of available nutrients. Good rotation reduces inputs, improves productivity and increases the farm's long-term stability.

Benefits of conservation agriculture

What does the farmer gain from conservation agriculture?

Real solutions, applied in the field and based on data, not promises. We support farmers in the transition to more productive, resilient conservation agriculture.

Improves soil health

Increases fertility, improves soil structure and supports more productive crops with less dependence on inputs.

Optimises water management

Improves water infiltration and retention, helping crops withstand drought periods better.

Greater resilience to climate change

Protects your crop against extreme conditions and brings greater stability to production.

A productive soil for the future

Preserves the land's capacity to keep producing today and for generations to come.

New income from carbon capture

Turns soil improvement into an economic opportunity through the value generated by carbon.

Farmer experience Rubén Vicente Benito, manager of Finca El Almendro (Córdoba)

The soil is our greatest ally for producing and generating value

"Working with conservation agriculture allows us to improve soil structure, increase organic matter and support carbon capture. A living soil is the foundation of a more profitable, sustainable crop."

How we work

Make conservation agriculture profitable

At Solsano we help farmers achieve profitable conservation agriculture that improves the soil, optimises water use and strengthens crop resilience.

24/7 support

Exclusive access to a smart assistant for your questions about conservation agriculture, available anytime on your phone.

We simplify the paperwork

We handle procedures and documentation to make the transition to conservation agriculture easier.

New income opportunities

Support to access low-emission crop markets and carbon credits, opening up new sources of profitability for the farmer.

How we do it

A clear process, no surprises

From the moment the contract is signed, the farmer has full access to the process. We validate each season together and advance the agreed income.

Farmer in the field with conservation crops
  1. 1

    First year · First payment

The farmer provides the season's data and it is validated. They receive the first advance on the estimated value.

  2. 2

    Second year · Second payment

The second season is recorded and validated. A new advance is made while a professional continues the technical follow-up of the farm.

  3. 3

Third or fourth year · Verification

An independent auditor certifies the carbon credits generated by the project.

  4. Final payment

The credits are sold at a competitive price and the remaining amount is paid to the farmer.

Key points

Everything you need to know to turn soil improvement into value

VALUE

>60% of the value generated goes to the farmer

Most of the value generated goes back to your farm. The rest covers measurement, certification and commercialisation.

Contract

10+10 year agreement with flexibility

A commitment designed to improve the soil and increase the payment.

FLEXIBILITY

Compatible with the CAP

Generating income from carbon capture does not replace your current subsidies. It is another way to make your crop profitable.

FUTURE

Get ready for the future of carbon

Carbon markets are evolving, and credit prices are expected to grow with the European CRCF certification. Starting now lets you position your farm ahead of the new carbon markets.
